It Seems I'm an Enemy of Faith and Family...
...according to Freedom Point News, which describes itself as an "Activist Christian Conservatives' News Magazine." They've linked to my post on Homosexuality and Hiring Practices under the heading "Faith Under Fire." Apparently advocating equal employment opportunities for all Americans is contrary to "family values." In any event, I've actually gotten several hits via this link. I'm interested to know whether the Christian conservatives actually read my post and considered my arguments; though somehow I doubt it.

It seems Faith and Family are "under fire" from both coasts - I'd like to hear what you have to say about my post on gay marriage and marriage in general:

All I have to say is lol. Please continue your attack - I find it rather stimulating.
Congratulations, you're making enemies in all the right places. I'm jealous.
Haha thanks Pam and Clayton. I'm definitely proud to be the subject of these kinds of attacks.
Christian conservatives are least likely to read and consider your arguments; they are brought up in the world in a state of blind faith for their church and what the church tells them to think.
One telling episode (this also ties into my 107 essay) was when I asked my Mormon friend what she thought about the 10% tithing. She replied, "I do it because they can use my money better than I ever could," even when she had no IDEA what they were using her money for.
It is very hard to undue a lifetime of conditioning, which is what many religious people are subject to.
I consider myself to be a devout Catholic, and while there are slight differences between Christianity and Catholicism, it saddens me that a religion that preaches acceptance of all people can hold such negative views on homosexuals. For instance, not advocating for same sex marriages.
It has not led me to doubt my faith in the least, but has led me to question how I should interpret the Biblical teachings. Afterall, it was written so many centuries ago. The way I see it is that the Bible should not be taken literally, but rather contextually.
Last Sunday at Newman Parish, I sat next to a gay couple who was quite open with their relationship; they were holding hands. I'm glad that negative Christian/Catholic views on homosexuality has not turned them away from the faith.
